This post shows you lots of great January scholarships you can apply for this winter.
The end of a semester is a whirlwind of stress, tests, and last-minute panic attacks. But once the craziness ends it’s like having a huge weight lifted off your shoulders.
You can finally relax! And some serious veg out time is much needed.
In addition to recuperation, the winter break from school is also the perfect time to knock out a few scholarship applications.
I even put together a list of the scholarships due in January this year to make things a little easier for you. Now you don’t need to spend time searching because all the best ones are right here in this post.
Instead:
You can focus your efforts on filling out the applications. And in turn, that leaves more time for napping.

29 January Scholarships
1. Employment BOOST College Scholarship
Eligibility: High school students who have been accepted to college and students who are currently enrolled in a college or university are eligible to apply. Must also have a GPA of 3.6 or higher.
Submit: 500-1000 word essay in response to the prompt.
2. Bold Moments Scholarship
Eligibility: Open to all students at any education level.
Submit: An image of you doing something bold and less than 100 words to describe the story behind it.
3. Amplify Women in STEM Scholarship
Eligibility: Open to female high school seniors and undergraduate students who plan to or are currently pursuing a STEM degree.
Submit: 100-500 word statement about a woman in STEM (past or present) whom you admire and then explain what you hope to achieve in STEM.
4. Austin Kramer Music Scholarship
Eligibility: Open to any student, in any field of study.
Submit: Pick a song that inspires you. Then, curate a 10-20 track playlist on YouTube or SoundCloud to elaborate on the song you selected as your inspiration. Finally, submit a paragraph (under 100 words) explaining your playlist.
5. Lois Britt Memorial Pork Industry Scholarship
Eligibility: Must be a current undergraduate student in a two-year swine program or four-year college of agriculture and a U.S. citizen.
Submit: An essay of 750 words or less describing an issue the applicant sees confronting the pork industry today or in the future, including offering their solutions.
6. Young Filmmakers Scholarship Contest 2021
Eligibility: Open to students in grade 3 and up through age 25.
Submit: A live action or animated film no shorter than 3 minutes and no longer than 8 minutes.
7. “Don’t Wait to reach Your Potential” Scholarship
Eligibility: Open to college-bound teens in grades 9th-12th.
Submit: A short online form.
8. NJCPA Scholarship Fund
Eligibility: Must be an accounting student at a New Jersey college who is currently in their junior year or senior year and will be entering an accounting-related graduate program in New Jersey.
Submit: 500 word essay on the assigned topic.
9. Justricia Scholarship for Education
Eligibility: Open to students of all ages and fields of study.
Submit: 250-500 word statement about the role of education in your life.
10. Ron Brown Scholar Program
Eligibility: Must be Black/African American, a current high school senior at the time of your application, and a US citizen or hold a permanent resident visa card.
Submit: 2 essays no longer than 500 words each.
11. AAMI Foundation Scholarships
Eligibility: Applicants must be entering or current full-time college students seeking a career in the healthcare technology profession at an accredited college or university.
Submit: 500-700 word essay.
12. APIA Scholarship Program
Eligibility: Must be of Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity; a citizen, national, or legal permanent resident of the United States; be enrolling as an undergraduate student in a U.S. accredited college or university in the Fall of 2021; and have a GPA of 2.7 or higher.
Submit: An online application.
13. NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship Program
Eligibility: Must be in final season of NCAA athletics eligibility or must have completed athletic eligibility; be in final year of undergraduate academic work or received an undergraduate degree; have a GPA of 3.2 or higher; and be enrolled in a graduate degree granting program within one-year after the academic year the scholarship was awarded.
Submit: Student-athletes must be nominated by the institution’s Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR) or a FAR designee (preferably an individual in academics).
14. Innovation in Education Scholarship
Eligibility: Must be currently enrolled as a high school or college student; have a GPA of 3.0 or higher; and be a citizen of, permanent resident of, or hold a valid student visa in the United States or Canada.
Submit: An essay describing the goal of an innovative project (this could be a website, series of blogs, an app, fundraising event, etc.) you’ve designed that makes a difference in the lives of others.

15. Live Más Scholarship
Eligibility: Open to all legal U.S. residents who are pursuing higher education and are at least 16 years of age.
Submit: A 2-minute video on what you’re passionate about and how you plan to make a difference. It could be a short film, animation, or a simple testimonial.
16. March of Dimes Graduate Nursing Scholarships
Eligibility: Must be a registered nurse; currently be enrolled in graduate education with a focus on maternal-child nursing at the master’s or doctorate level; and a member of at least one professional organization.
Submit: A personal essay that does not exceed 4000 characters.
17. No Essay ‘You Deserve It’ Scholarship
Eligibility: Must be at least 16 years of age and a resident of any of the 50 United States, District of Columbia or US Territories (except for Rhode Island and Michigan). Additionally, you must either be enrolled now, or will be enrolled within three months of applying for the scholarship, in a qualified high school, college or university within the United States.
Submit: A short online form.
18. Technology Addiction Awareness Scholarship
Eligibility: Must be a high school freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior or a current or entering college or graduate school student of any level. Homeschooled students are eligible to apply. There is no age limit. Must also be a U.S. citizen or legal resident.
Submit: 140-character statement about technology addiction. Finalists will be asked to write a full length 500- to 1,000-word essay.
19. Eskew Law Scholarship for Children of Convicted Felons
Eligibility: Must have graduated high school in the summer of 2020 and be currently enrolled in an accredited technical school, college, or university in the U.S.; have proof of citizenship; be the child of a parent who has a felony conviction; and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Submit: 500+ word essay.
20. “Be Bold” No-Essay Scholarship
Eligibility: Open to all students at any education level.
Submit: N/A

21. The Debt.com Scholarship For Aggressive Scholarship Applicants
Eligibility: Open to all students.
Submit: Proof that you have applied for other scholarships and a short letter about yourself.
22. EmPOWERED to Serve Scholarship
Eligibility: All currently enrolled undergraduate college freshmen, sophomores and juniors who are working to improve community health and wellness are eligible to apply. GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
Submit: 60-second video about what health equity means to you and how you’ve made a sustainable, positive impact on a community’s health and a headshot photo.
23. Colvin Undergraduate Scholarships
Eligibility: Must be pursuing a meat science, food science, animal science, marketing, business, communications, journalism or other degree related to the beef industry. Open to undergraduate sophomores, juniors, and seniors.
Submit: A photo of yourself and 2 essays on assigned topics: 1 essay up to 1000 words and the other, no more than 500 words.
24. Colvin Graduate Scholarships
Eligibility: Must be pursuing a meat science, food science, animal science, marketing, business, communications, journalism or other degree related to the beef industry. Must also be a full-time master’s or doctorate student, conducting applied or basic research, and set to graduate after the 2021 fall term.
Submit: A photo of yourself and your research project + how the information could affect the beef industry and high-quality beef production.
25. MyMozaic Monthly Scholarship Contest
Eligibility: Applicants must be U.S. citizens or are lawfully living in the United States and must be 13 years of age or older on the date of their entry.
Submit: Your email address. Selection is based on the quality of students’ MyMozaic profile.
26. Discover Student Loans Scholarship
Eligibility: Open to U.S. residents who are at least 16 years old. Must be a high school senior who will be or a college student who is enrolled at least half-time in a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree program or graduate program at an eligible school within one (1) year of winner notification/confirmation.
Submit: Your email address.
27. I Have a Dream Scholarship
Eligibility: Must be at least 14 years of age and a legal U.S. resident.
Submit: 250 words or less response to the scholarship question.
28. EnergyRates.ca College Scholarship
Eligibility: Must be enrolled in an American or Canadian post-secondary educational institution, or planning to enroll in such an institution within the following calendar year.
Submit: An essay (written in English or French) of no more than 500 words in response to the prompt.
29. eQuality Scholarships
Eligibility: Open to California residents who have demonstrated service to the LGBT+ community. Applicants of all sexual orientations and gender identities are eligible. Scholarships available to graduating high school seniors, community college transfer students, and medical students.
Submit: An online application.
Wrapping up with college scholarships in January
So there you have it. Those are the best January scholarships and their deadlines for applications.
Most of them are worth quite a bit!
But:
Big and small awards add up, so don’t pass up any “little” opportunities you qualify for.
